Step 1: Test fit
• The cap should be placed in the molding tray. The cap is placed correctly if its top is bent inwards. If it is placed incorrectly, correct the position of the cap before continuing the adjustment process.
• Place the cap and molding tray under your upper teeth and bite.
• Look in the mirror to make sure the molding tray is centered between your two front teeth. Your teeth should be in the middle of the molding material.
Step 2: Final fit
• Bring the water in the container to a boil using a microwave or oven. The water depth should be at least 3.81 cm. Remove the container with boiling water from the fire source and let it cool for 10 seconds. Be careful when removing the container from the heat.
• Immerse the hood placed in the molding tray face down for 60 seconds in hot water.
• Remove the cap and the molding tray with a metal fork using the holes in the molding tray handle.
• Quickly immerse them in room temperature water (for no more than 1 second). Immediately lift the cap using the handle of the molding tray and gently place it in your mouth. He doesn't bite her yet.
• Looking in the mirror, center the tooth cap under your two front teeth and the edge under your molars.
• Bite the cap molding material firmly and hold until it has cooled to body temperature. Wait at least 2 minutes.
• Carefully remove the cap and molding tray from your mouth and rinse under cool water for 20 seconds. This will allow the cap to finally take shape in the molding tray.
• After cooling, remove the cap from the molding tray. Start with a neat separation of the ends on each side of the molding tray, then move in a circle forward. This is normal if the cap sticks a little to the molding tray. Your cap is ready to use.
Cleaning and care
• After each use, clean the cap with toothpaste and / or mouthwash. Never rinse your toothbrush with hot water, as this may change its shape.
• Check your tooth cap for wear every month. The lifespan of a toothpick depends on the frequency of gnashing of teeth and the force with which it occurs. The dental cap can be used for up to six months.
